OWNER BIOGRAPHY
Hello All!
My name is Monina Atkinson, owner of International Links Language School. We are a school that focuses on all aspects of language learning for children and adults. I am a UNC-Greensboro graduate with degrees in Spanish & Education and have been in the field for over 17 years! I taught in the Guilford County School System for several years before working as a Director of After-school programs. I then began working with an agency that assisted with licensing of child care centers. I also provide several trainings in the area and am well known for my abilities in the School-age Arena!
I started International Links in 1998 (in Greensboro) as a business in order to provide Spanish Classes primarily for adults. I was working in a middle school and wanted to also work with adults (Adult Language Learning is also a passion of mine). International Links then progressed over the years to become much more than that. We moved to Durham a few years ago and have been offering classes to people of all ages! We even go to child care centers weekly and teach the children once a week.
We are pleased to be in Pittsboro and offering you a service that highlights child development, language learning, and FUN!
What we have created is a state of the art “traditional” After-school & Pre-K program with a “twist”. The children will get the opportunity for socializing, fun, and homework assistance, but will be learning Spanish at the same time. Spanish is taught in a relaxed way and the children LOVE IT!
We chose this location after viewing many options in Chatham County and thought this to be the best location due to the wonderful possibilities for the outdoor space. International Links is nestled on 1 acre of land and will be best suited for the children to have a lot of gross motor activities available to them! Our anticipated completion for playground is: 10-15-11!
Our indoor space is also GREAT! We will have a room set up for the children to interact with one another in center-based play. Centers include: Music, Arts & Crafts, Cozy Area, Blocks & Construction, Math/Science & Dramatic Play (Dramatic Play will change monthly for advanced Spanish Language learning).
We also have a space for all education/learning activities. This space will be used for ALL classes, homework assistance and daily nutritional snacks.
As if that was not enough…We have a GAME ROOM! This space will be for the children to play foosball, hopscotch, WII, and table tennis!

Parents Nights Out
You will be able to go out for well deserved “ME” time and we will take care of the children for a few hours several times a year!

We have an abundance of resources that will be provided to assist with developmental milestones that you will encounter with your children.
Adult Language Classes
We offer adult classes. You will get a discount if you are using multiple International Links services.
